Al-<br>les is daarop gebaseerd. In Romeinen 8:<br>1-4 klinkt de samenvatting van de voor-<br>afgaande hoofdstukken:<br><br><em>zo is er dan nu geen veroordeling voor<\/em><br><em>hen die in Christus Jezus zijn<br><br><\/em>Dat is het logische gevolg van wat klonk<br>in Romeinen 1-7. De mens kon niet ho-<br>open op Gods goedgunstigheid, gelet\u00a0<br>op zijn gedrag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#00a377\" class=\"has-text-color\">\u00a0\u2018De mens stond er niet best voor.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#0046a3\" class=\"has-text-color\">Paulus laat dat heel erg scherp zien in<br>het gedeelte 1:18-3:20. Op grond van<br>het werk, de dood en opstanding van&nbsp;<br>Christus, werden de sluizen van Gods<br>genade in het goede nieuws dat Pau-<br>lus brengt, wijd opengezet. Overstro-<br>mende genade. Een prachtig beeld is<br>als het vloed wordt bij de zee. Niets is<br>er dan, wat het water kan keren. Men<br>kan wallen van zand neergooien; toch<br>komt het water eroverheen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#00a377\" class=\"has-text-color\">\u2018Genade van God is niet te stoppen.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#0046a3\" class=\"has-text-color\">De zonde kan dat niet, de vijandschap<br>evenmin, maar ook de onwil van de<br>mens is geen partij voor de genade van<br>God. Zij komt met de onweerstaanbare&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>kracht van Gods liefde opzetten en zal<br>alles en iedereen uiteindelijk meevoe-<br>ren. Gelukkig degene, die al overwel-<br>digd is geworden, net als Saulus, door<br>Zijn genade. Dat is de achtergrond van<br>Romeinen 8:1.
