Een reactie van iemand, die zich \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcorthodox\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 (= recht in de leer) noemt. In de krant besprak hij naar aanleiding van een verschenen boek iemand, die in de loop van de tijd verschoven was van orthodox naar vrijzinnig. Wat ik merkwaardig vond, was dat de schrijver opmerkte, dat de vrijzinnigheid nogal dogmatisch is. En stellig. Aan de andere kant, schreef hij, was en is er binnen de orthodoxie altijd ruimte voor twijfel. Ook merk-waardig. Men noemt dat \u00e2\u20ac\u201cgek genoeg- geloofstwijfel. Dat laatste woord is, als ik Paulus erop na sla in Romeinen 14:23, in zichzelf tegenstrijdig. Het is bij de apostel \u00c3\u00b3f twijfel \u00c3\u00b3f geloof.<br \/>\nNee, mijn held is Abraham. Hij twijfelde niet door ongeloof (Romeinen 4:23) aan de beloften van God. Even conclusie trekken: zou de orthodoxie soms <em>niet<\/em> gebaseerd zijn op de beloften van God? Zou de orthodoxie, zoals wijlen prof. dr. C. Graafland eens opmerkte, de eigen belijde-nisgeschriften niet eindelijk eens moeten gaan toetsen aan de Schrift? Dan verdwijnt hun twijfel waarschijnlijk. En al die opmerkingen van de apostel, de leraar van de heidenen?<br \/>\nDie zijn, lijkt mij, toch wel vrij zinnig\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vreemd vond ik het.
