Maar daarom werd mij
barmhartigheid bewezen, opdat 
in mij, de eerste, Jezus Christus 
al Zijn geduld zou betonen tot 
voorbeeld voor hen die op het
punt staan om te vertrouwen 
op Hem tot in eonisch leven
    <\/em>1 Timothe\u00fcs 1:16<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ook hier hetzelfde patroon als
in vers 12-14. Eerst (vers 12) en
laatst (vers 14) wordt de Heer
genoemd en in het midden
(vers 13) het oude ik van de
apostel. Nu is redding een feit.
Zo ook vers 15,16:

1. Christus Jezus kwam in de
wereld om zondaren te redden:
   2. Van wie ik<\/em> de eerste ben
   3. Maar daarom werd mij
<\/em>       barmhartigheid bewezen
       opdat in mij<\/em>, de eerste,
4. Jezus Christus al Zijn geduld
zou tonen tot voorbeeld.

Zo zien we ook in de structuur
van dit deel de Heer als Redder
van de zondigende Saulus.
Dit is voorbeeld <\/em>voor allen die
later geloven: de Heer redt de
zondaren.
