‘De nieuwe schepping in Christus, eigenlijk moeilijk<\/span><\/strong> voor te stellen
\ndat wij dat al zijn.’

\nHet is de geweldige geestelijke waarheid die over ons gezegd wordt
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/span>in 2 Corinthi\u00c3\u00abrs 5:14-17. Wij zijn dat voor God in Christus. Daarmee
\nis de oude mensheid in feite niet langer onder de wet, want zij zijn
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/span>gestorven. E\u00c3\u00a9n stierf \u00c2\u00a0voor allen, dus zijn allen gestorven.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

‘Maar dan kan het oude verbond niet meer van toepassing zijn!’<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Goed beschouwd leeft niemand meer onder dat oude verbond, nu de
\nhele mensheid met Christus medegekruisigd is, \u00c3\u00a9n begraven. Alleen
\nde gelovigen leven nu, voor God. Dit is de situatie vanuit God bezien.
\nDe mensen die onder een religie (Joods of niet-Joods) leven, doen dat
\nvaak om beter voor hun god (of God) te zijn, of dichter bij hun God te
\nkomen.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

‘Maar de werken die zij dan doen, zijn dat de dode werken waar Hebree\u00c3\u00abn
\nover spreekt?’<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Ja. Voor de gelovigen geldt dat hun gewetens gereinigd zijn van dode wer-
\nken. Zij zijn het, die leven. Paulus geeft aan, dat zij die leven, niet langer
\nvoor zichzelf leven, maar voor Christus. Dat leven is in en door Gods genade.
\nVoor Isra\u00c3\u00abl zal binnen afzienbare tijd het nieuwe verbond aanbreken als
\nhun Messias Jezus komt. Hij zal hun zonden (o.a. ongeloof) wegnemen en
\nzij zullen Hem aanvaarden, eindelijk breekt de \u00c3\u00a9chte vrede aan!<\/strong><\/span>
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n
